Powerhouse
Powerhouse, the electrical retailer, was installing a new state-of-the-art digital camera display unit in all 120 of their stores nationwide. Their challenge was how to train out the installation instructions to all stores quickly, cost effectively and with immediate impact.
So Powerhouse contacted Living Media for a solution. Working closely with Powerhouse we scripted and filmed a training session, then produced a training DVD that was distributed to their stores nationwide.
Following the success of this initiative Living Media also worked with Powerhouse to produce a training DVD focusing on how best to sell extended warranties.
Diabetes UK
Diabetes UK, the national charity for people with diabetes, appointed Living Media to produce a DVD to train both nurses and patients on how to control diabetes through diet. Filmed on location at Sheffield General Hospital, Living Media worked closely with Diabetes UK to produce an effective, easy to use training tool.
Birmingham Children’s Hospital
Birmingham Children’s Hospital wanted to gather feedback from children about their experiences in hospital, but they realised that traditional methods like filling in questionnaires wouldn’t work with children. The hospital approached Living Media for help in solving this problem and we came up with a unique answer – interactive touchscreen kiosks.
We developed a kiosk that would appeal specifically to children, with software that would ensure the critical information required by the hospital could be captured and reported against. Living Media designed:
- the kiosk which is smaller than normal, aesthetically appealing to children, and completely safe and child-proof,
- the interface i.e. the look and feel of the information screen, which appeals to children so they want to interact immediately,
- the software that drives the functionality of the kiosk, ensuring delivery of the information the hospital needs via bespoke analysis and reports.
We also completed the installation ourselves and provide a full maintenance service.
Department of Health and Health and Safety Executive
The Healthy Workplace Initiative, or Signup as it is more commonly known, is jointly sponsored by the Department of Health and the Health and Safety Executive. This initiative is a new approach to the problems of health at work and it aims to place occupational health and safety firmly on the business agenda.
With this objective in mind there was a critical need to engage with the millions of people in the workplace through employers, trade unions, other workplace organisations and workplace health and safety professionals.
To enable this Living Media created a database driven website to effectively disseminate the information and encourage people and companies to 'Sign Up' though a campaign which has contacted over 300,000 workplace organisations in every sector of every size.

The system delivers key information to Health Information Service operators who answer a wide range of queries from members of the public and professionals regarding health matters. Communicator is completely database-driven and updated each month to keep the information fresh and relevant.
